Frisco ISD’s Marvin Lowe has a credibility problem | Opinion

The family says they were harassed by Trustee Marvin Lowe at a school event.Frisco ISD trustee Marvin Lowe’s credibility is increasingly in doubt, and it’s becoming more clear that he is not telling the whole truth about his encounter with a transgender student last year.
TASA executive director Kevin Brown told our editorial board that the staffer confirmed reporting in this newspaper that what Lowe allegedly said was accurate.The student, who was 16 at the time, filed a complaint that stated Lowe made dehumanizing, violating statements in the encounter.“He then reiterated this statement by mentioning his children and how they participate in such practice,” the student wrote in the complaint.
Lowe replied: “Absolutely not. I don’t remember the exact conversation, but at this point I wasn’t even engaging the child. I just came over to say a few words to this child, which was, ‘I love you, we love you, I want the best for you.’ I was going to leave, but the mother engaged me. So, all of this conversation took place with the mother.”
The complaint noted that Lowe continued speaking to the student and his mother until “one of the organizers stepped in and physically placed himself between Lowe and my mother.” Meanwhile, Lowe has changed his story and is alone in denying that the exchange happened as the student described. We tried to reach Lowe on his cellphone twice prior to publication. He did not respond.
