A season of confusion continues for the Los Angeles Angels.
Now, the third baseman has come out and said he’s had a fractured tibia, discoveringhe reportedly replied
when asked why the Angels haven’t confirmed what Rendon is alleging in reference to his injury status. Anthony Rendon has struggled to recapture his previous success since joining the Angels prior to the 2020 season.Rendon hasn’t meaningfully updated the media on his status during the past couple months.“It depends on which day you ask him,” he told reporters reportedRendon, 33, signed a seven-year, $245 million deal to join the Angels prior to the 2020 season, and is under contract with the club until the 2027 season.
Rendon hasn’t yet reclaimed the success with the Angels that he had with the Nationals prior to leaving the team after being a core piece of their 2019 World Series title team, his only All-Star season.The Texas native not only has seen his production drop since switching teams, but his run in Los Angeles has been wildly marred by injury.
Rendon has yet to play more than 58 games in a season with the Angels, including the 60-game 2020 season, in which he played 52.He’s hitting .236 this season, the second-lowest of mark of his career.
