A human rights activist has accused the World Economic Forum of conducting a 'profit maximising exercise' after they told him the staggering cost to attend the meeting to speak about ways to end the Ukraine war.
Bill Browder - who is one of the leading critics of Russian President Vladimir Putin - had previously attended the annual meeting in Switzerland at a cost which was three times cheaper.
Anti-Putin activist and American financier Bill Browder told Sky News Australia the World Economic Forum in Switzerland had wanted to charge him $250,000 to speak to world leaders about the Ukraine war and how to stop Russian leader Vladimir Putin. Picture: Supplied At the top of the agenda for the World Economic Forum was the Ukraine war, which is about to enter its 12th month and has left a trail of destruction and a tragic death toll.
"They want to get as much money as they can from as many participants as they can. And they want to squeeze them and if somebody says 'no', they go on to the next one, hopefully they’ll say 'yes'." One of those is reallocating the estimated $350 billion of frozen Russian central bank reserves to the war-torn nation to aid in their fight against President Putin.
