Trump ‘dragged Joe Biden into the gutter with him’ in first presidential debate | Sky News AustraliaUS President Donald Trump managed to “drag” rival Joe Biden “into the gutter with him” during the first presidential debate according to Daily Telegraph columnist Miranda Devine.\n\nIn the fiery brawl of words in Cleveland, Ohio, the two presidential candidates sniped each other’s intelligence.\n\n“A lot of people died, and a lot more are going to die unless he gets a lot smarter,” Mr Biden said.\n\nPresident Trump replied asking “did you use the word smart?”\n\n“You said you went to Delaware State, but you forgot the name of your college,” President Trump said.\n\n“You didn’t go to Delaware State, you graduated either the lowest or almost the lowest in your class – don’t ever use the word smart with me – don’t ever use that word.\n\n“There’s nothing smart about you, Joe, 47 years you’ve done nothing.” \t\n \nMs Devine said Mr Biden would be judged the winner because he didn’t “fall off the stage” despite a “strangely nasty” and “low energy” performance.\n\n“Everybody had said the guy was going to lose his train of thought, as we’ve seen in recent months, and he managed it hold it together,” Ms Devine said.\n\n“Even though a lot of what he said didn’t really make sense, he didn’t have those brain fades that we’re used to with him.”
