SUBANG JAYA: A review of the East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) project is now necessary after a witness in the ongoing 1MDB trial told the court that it was mooted by the previous administration to bail out 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB), says Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
Anwar, who is PKR president, said there was a need to relook into the terms and negotiations surrounding the ECRL project, which the Pakatan Harapan government had renegotiated with China."This was considered during the period of negotiations. We were quite aware but we had no evidence.
The testimony was given at the High Court by Datuk Amhari Efendi Nazaruddin, ex-special officer to former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, on Wednesday during the 1MDB trial.
