Paid gender affirmation leave will be offered to ANZ staff who are taking steps to affirm their gender for social, medical, or legal reasons.

The big four bank announced on Monday it would provide the leave to support staff members undergoing any social, medical, and legal aspect of gender affirmation.

“The six weeks of paid leave means people who are affirming their gender do not need to exhaust their annual or sick leave entitlements, while also easing some of the financial pressures,” Ms MacDonald said. Chair of the Coles Pride Steering Committee David Brewster said the policy would support more than 900 team members who identify as transgender or gender diverse.
