Cincuenta años atrás, Chile se sumió en el periodo más oscuro de su historia moderna.
El 11 de septiembre de 1973, el general Augusto Pinochet encabezó un golpe de Estado militar que incluyó el bombardeo de La Moneda, el palacio presidencial de la capital, Santiago, donde se había refugiado el presidente Salvador Allende.
Los tres se marcharon a México, donde comenzaron una nueva vida, y donde siguen residiendo. Su condición de exiliados les había hecho cuestionarse quiénes eran. Durante la dictadura, los familiares de los desaparecidos salieron a la calle mostrando fotos de sus seres queridos y exigiendo respuestas. A finales del mes pasado, el presidente izquierdista Gabriel Boric presentó el que será de facto el primer plan patrocinado por el Estado para tratar de localizar a las aproximadamente 1.162 víctimas del régimen militar de las que todavía se desconoce su paradero.
