Eerie pictures show the sky turning an ominous shade of red over a number of Aussie towns as a major storm sweeps through.
Southwest of there, in the town of Peterborough, locals have described the storm passing through as “apocalyptic” as gusts averaging 60-70km/h swept through clouds of dust.
Police say visibility has been reduced to 200m and advised motorists to drive carefully through the area.UPDATE: The Severe Weather Warning for damaging winds now includes parts of the Mid North and Murraylands districts. The Flinders, North East Pastoral and Riverland districts remain within the warning area. Stay up to date with the latest warnings here:
