Sydney has been hit with another antisemitic graffiti incident just days after CCTV footage captured two individuals spraying Swastikas on the wall of a Newtown synagogue and attempting to burn it down.

NSW Police has launched an investigation after an"appalling" antisemitic phrase was found scrawled on a building near Sydenham train station.Sydney has been hit with another antisemitic graffiti incident just days after CCTV footage captured two individuals spraying Swastikas on the wall of a Newtown synagogue and attempting to burn it down.

“The NSW Police Force takes hate crimes seriously and encourages anyone who is the victim of a hate crime of witnesses a hate crime to report the matter." Executive Council of Australian Jewry co-chief executive Peter Wertheim said the latest antisemitic attack was another example of how incidents of this nature can run rampant when they go unpunished.

The latest spate of antisemitic incidents has led to a war of words among Australia’s political leaders, with Opposition Leader Peter Dutton claiming Prime Minister Anthony Albanese was partly to blame. “Once again, on an issue that shouldn’t be one where Peter Dutton seeks to divide politically, it should be one where he acknowledges that anyone of any decency opposes antisemitism,” Mr Albanese said.
