An enormous bronze honour roll commemorating the First World War service of over 50 people has allegedly been stolen in the middle of the night from a park in Sydney’s north.
A two-metre-long bronze plaque honouring over 50 people who served in the First World War has allegedly been stolen in the “dead of night” from the Turramurra Memorial Park in Sydney ’s north.
It is understood the suspected theft took place at some stage between Sunday night and Monday morning. Picture: Ku-ring-gai CouncilThe entrance to the park on the corner of Eastern and Karuah Roads is marked by two sandstone block pillars on which two rolls are usually mounted. “After being alerted to the theft, the Council informed Hornsby police who are now undertaking an investigation,” Mayor Ngai said.
