That run continues with the latest disappointing sales figures from China.that analysis by both Counterpoint Research and Jefferies’ Edison Lee show a marked drop in sales of the iPhone 15 family compared to the iPhone 14 just twelve months earlier. Counterpoint’s numbers are more conservative but still show a 4.5 percent year-on-year drop for the first 17 days of sales.
Counterpoint Research also cites economic conditions in China, which have not fully recovered from the impact of the coronavirus pandemic. With Apple facing pressure from the Chinese government—The Chinese numbers are in contrast to US numbers. The iPhone has home home-field advantage and, after two strong weekends, is"expected to post double-digit growth”, according to the analysts at Jefferies.
