It’s just a few short weeks until the expected unveil of Apple’s mixed reality headset, likely called Reality or Reality Pro.
May 20 update. John Gruber, he of Daring Fireball fame and a well-connected Apple contact, has plenty to say about the new headset. And not all of it is to my liking.
Timing could have been an issue—there’s an awful lot of software to be announced at the DubDub keynote—but Gruber thinks it’ll be handled by a super-speedy presentation that crams a lot in, something made more manageable by the post-Covid recorded keynote movie format. Gruber says, “Apple does not like for keynotes to run longer than two hours… Here’s the thing though: post-COVID keynotes aren’t just pre-recorded, they’re very tightly edited.
