Archdiocese plans Christmas Posadas, Masses throughout the region

Churches will celebrate with traditional posadas, which is a re-enactment of the journey of Mary and Joseph as they arrived in Bethlehem to deliver the baby Jesus into the world. Christmas Eve celebrations at the Co-Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, 1111 St. Joseph Parkway in downtown Houston, include English Masses at 4 p.m. and 6:15 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 24. Spanish Mass will be at 8:30 p.m. Christmas Eve to be celebrated by Auxiliary Bishop Italo Dell’Oro.
• During Dec. 16-24, families of Filipino Catholics are celebrating “Simbang Gabi” at multiple parishes this year. The largest Grand Archdiocesan Simbang Gabi is Friday, Dec. 23, with Mass at 7 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Missouri City at 1510 5th St. Daniel Cardinal DiNardo will be the main celebrant.
