New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has welcomed counterpart Anthony Albanese's 'real awareness' of the long-standing complaints she has voiced about Australia's deportation of criminals.
The pair agreed to"work through" New Zealand's complaints on the issue during a joint press conference on Friday morning following their first in-person bilateral meeting.

Mr Albanese did not directly say what action would be taken under his new government but acknowledged the “very clear message” from New Zealand. “Prime Minister Ardern's concerns are very clear. We'll work them through in an orderly way. I've said that Section 501 would be maintained.”
