Q: I have read comments about the aggressive driver whose behavior around road boulders can lead to real danger. My road boulders are people driving in town who go blithely on their way without a care in the world, especially for other drivers. My example: drivers in Berkeley, where I lived for a long time. One summer in LA, I found drivers courteous, efficient and capable, unlike in Berkeley .
Take one recent afternoon. At the stoplight at Univerity and Milvia, the woman in front of me drove 15 mph across the intersection, then even slower, once through the intersection. I, and drivers behind me, finally started beeping and she accelerated to 18 mph. And there was a guy who saw cars coming on San Pablo Avenue, pulled right in front of one, and crawled as he drove. More horns. Luckily, I was in the other lane and blew past him.
