Argentine Economy Minister Martin Guzman could use some remedial courses in pragmatism, writes Three_Guineas.
Argentina’s bondholders have until May 8 to respond to Argentina's debt restructuring proposal, released last month.
If the government does not get sufficient support for the deal, then the next deadline is May 22 when the grace period expires on payments totaling roughly $500 million. Three creditor groups rejected the offer, and Economy Minister Martin Guzman said that reaching a consensus had"proven difficult," according to Reuters.
Guzman, who received his doctorate from Brown University, was working at Columbia University before he took office in December.
