A woman from Australia claims that ArmaForce, a popular remedy for colds and flu, triggered a drug-induced liver injury leading to a diagnosis of autoimmune hepatitis. "We would encourage anyone who experiences adverse reactions to firstly seek medical advice and then report the specific issue to our advisory team."The medicines were cancelled from the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods but a TGA safety review concluded there was "insufficient information" about the herb's safety to warrant further action.
"The other problem with the warning is it's a warning to people who have had severe allergic reactions.Call for tighter controls"The problem is that people can walk into a shop and buy these things," Professor Katelaris told 7.30.
