The Football Association said it 'strongly condemns' any 'offensive, abusive and discriminatory chants'
Police have made an arrest following reports of "tragedy chanting" at today's Liverpool V Manchester United match.
The force said it would work with both football clubs to identify any other offenders. A spokesperson from Greater Manchester Police said: “GMP can confirm that an arrest has been made in connection with tragedy chanting at the Manchester United v Liverpool fixture this afternoon .
The Football Association has since said it "strongly condemns any offensive, abusive and discriminatory chants" at stadiums following the incident at Old Trafford, and that it was liaising with Greater Manchester Police over the matter.
