From a concrete jungle to a playground of colour and creation — for the first time Darwin's popular Street Art Festival has expanded beyond the CBD, as demand for eye-catching artwork continues to grow.

Two street artists have painted a three-storey mural depicting a Larrakia woman holding a powerful python in the back streets of the Darwin suburb of Nightcliff.The Darwin Street Art Festival is expanding to the city's northern suburbs and to Katherine, Tennant Creek and Alice SpringsRevitalising streets and attracting art enthusiasts to the Territory are the aims of the event

"We wanted to create a piece that reflected the multiculturalism of Darwin," Ms Eine said of the mural, which has yet to be titled. The festival has been expanded to Darwin's northern suburbs and down the Stuart Highway to other urban centres in the NT.
