ASDA worker becomes millionaire after split-second decision while buying bread and milk
An ASDA employee has become a millionaire overnight after making a split-second decision while working at the supermarket. Karl Ward and his soon-to-be wife Eleanor Land nipped in to the ASDA where Karl worked for some bread and milk when they made a split-second decision which would change their lives forever.
Miss Land went on to explain that she purchased the ticket "on a whim," saying: “We had popped into Asda on the way home from visiting friends to grab some bread and milk. Karl waited for me while I went to use the bathroom, and when I came out he was by the National Lottery counter so I decided to get a EuroMillions ticket for the draw that night.
All of a sudden she received a message congratulating her of the £1million win, which she showed to Mr Ward. In complete awe of what was in front of her, Miss Land said that when her mother walked in and asked if they were OK after having seen their shocked faces. Speaking about their plans, the couple are looking to purchase a new house that they can call their own, after two decades of renting. Miss Land said: “The wedding and a forever home are top of our list but the children also have a few requests.
