Less than a year after taking out the Australian Open, Ash Barty has revealed she will return to the competition in a very different role to support rising Aussie talent.
The former world number shocked fans when she ended her tennis career in March 2022, only two months after ending Australia’s 44 year drought by winning the tournament.

Barty is said to be committed to helping local talent, having mentored the fellow Queenslander over several years and occasionally hitting the court with Gadecki in the Gold Coast.
“I’m fortunate enough to be given the opportunity of playing main draw Australian Open, which has been a dream of mine from a very young age,” Gadecki said.Barty revealedin an emotional six-minute video of a sit-down interview with close friend and former doubles partner, Casey Dellacqua.
