Sky News host Caleb Bond says the ASIO’s warning after the Israel-Hamas conflict “kicked off” due to the pro-Palestine protests being allowed at the Opera House and various other locations.

Israel declared a state of war on October 7 following a surprise attack from Hamas in which the Palestinian militant group fired thousands of rockets as far north as Tel Aviv.

“The Premier of NSW has of course rejected today calls for the Opera House to be lit up in the colours of the Palestinian flag,” Mr Bond said. “Then you had the director general of security at our top intelligence organisation saying the threats to the nation’s safety are heightened from extremists who have been sort of aggravated by this war in the Middle East.

“You have Mike Burgess saying that neo-Nazis could be firing up at the anti-Semitic nature of the conflict, stirring them to turn violent, then on the other side the ASIO boss said the Muslim population could be seeing their oppression as an opportunity for violence.”
