The World Series will have to wait another day to get back underway.
MLB announced Monday night’s scheduled Game 3 at Citizens Bank Park has been postponed because of rain. The series between the Phillies and Astros, which is tied 1-1, will resume Tuesday in Philadelphia. Lance McCullers Jr. will take the ball for Houston and Noah Syndergaard could be on hill for the Phillies, but the team has yet to name an official starter.
MLB commissioner Rob Manfred told reporters the “risk” of not playing a full game with heavier rain expected to come was the key reason for the decision.World Series Game 3 between the Astros and Phillies was rained out on Monday night.They will now play Games 4 and 5 on Wednesday and Thursday in Philadelphia, with a day off slated for Friday. Potential Games 6 and 7 would be Saturday and Sunday in Houston.
