Lithium developer Piedmont Lithium has secured a mining lease to continue developing its Ewoyaa lithium project in Ghana.
The mining lease was issues by Ghana’s Minister of Lands and Natural Resources and provides exclusive rights to carry out lithium mining and production for an inital 15 years. Last month, Ghana’s Minerals Income Investment Fund announced plans to acquire a 6 per cent stake in the project for $US27.9 million . Piedmont has partenerd with Atlantic Lithium to develop the project. Piedmont Lithium shares are 3.2 per cent higher to 48.5¢.

ASX 200 hits 12-month low as the market ends the day down on MondayThe ASX 200 ended the day down on Monday by 0.82 per cent. According to Sky News business reporter Edward Boyd, today’s market end was a 12-month low. “It was a pretty tough day for local market … the lowest level since October last year,” he said. “It was pushed down by energy stocks, mining companies and TELCOs.
