Australian shares are poised to extend their losses, in line with Wall Street, though the pace of the sell-off has slowed with investors waiting for early Thursday’s Federal Reserve rate move.ASX futures were down 49 points or 0.7 per cent to 6628 at 6.15am AEST, paring earlier losses of more than 1 per cent.Tesla +2.4% Apple +0.7% Amazon -1.3% NYSE Fang +2%On bitstamp.net, bitcoin was 5.2 per cent lower to $US22,163.83 at 5.55am AEST; it traded as low as $US20,828 in the last 24 hours.
On Wall Street, shares closed mixed with the Nasdaq edging back into positive territory. All eyes are turned to the Fed as its rate decision is awaited.P 500’s 11 industry groups lower. Information tech and energy ended higher. Bernanke argued that the political reality is far different today than in the 1960s and 1970s, and the Fed has room to act.
