Flight Centre, Goldman Travel and the Spencer Group of Companies have launched a joint venture focussed on premium and business travel called Link Travel Group.

Flight Centre described it as “an invitation-only members’ group dedicated to partnering with high-quality travel companies to provide an innovative and compelling offering via travel supply, technology and business operations.“ Goldman Travel joint managing director Anthony Goldman and Spencer Group of Companies founder Penny Spencer will sit on the JV’s board of directors, alongside Flight Centre’s Danielle Galloway, the executive general manager of the company’s premium brands.9.02AMCecile LefortThe Australian dollar bounced 2.2 per cent to US72.

The US central bank lifted, as expected, its funds rate by 0.5 percentage point but played down the prospect of a super sized 0.75 percentage point increase as it signalled half a percentage point increases likely in the near-term. The Federal Reserve also cut bond purchases as it attempts to tackle soaring inflation and maintain chances of a soft landing for the economy.
