Australian shares are heading for a strong open after earnings powered a rally in US stocks and the Nasdaq surged 2.9 per cent. Follow for updates.
Listed investment company BKI has reported record full-year earnings boosted by higher dividend payouts from its major holdings including BHP, Rio Tinto and Commonwealth Bank.
Net Profit after tax and including special dividends was $100.8 million for the 12 months through June, an increase of 175 per cent and a record for the company. Total ordinary revenue grew 58 per cent to $63.4m million. “These strong economic conditions prevailed throughout FY2022 which saw company profits improve and dividends paid by Australian equities increase significantly throughout the year.”
