Australian shares were set to edge lower, amid renewed rate-worry weakness in New York. Tesla rose more than 6 per cent, as shares in the electric-vehicle maker continued a stunning rebound to start the year.
The weekly American Association of Individual Investors survey found that optimism about the short-term direction of the stock market has risen to its highest level in more than a year.
