On Sunday, June 4, the New York City chapter of Moms Demand Action and Guns Down Life Up called for an end to this terrifying status quo, organizing the 2022 Walk in Solidarity With Survivors in Manhattan’s Foley Square. Speakers included gun violence survivors Carlyn Dixon, Antonius Wiriadjaja, and Trenelle Gabay, as well as Jose M. Prince, MD, who currently serves as VP & System Chief of Pediatric Surgery and Acute Care Surgery for New York’s largest health care provider, Northwell Health.

Orange-clad protestors crossed the Brooklyn Bridge together on foot in the afternoon, sending a strong visual message that they were united in the fight to end the scourge of gun violence in the U.S. See the event from photographer Lili Kobielski’s viewpoint below.
