At GiambattistaPR's Spring 2020 show, models wore mesmerizing florals on their faces.
Giambattista Valli's garden grow? That was the question at today's Spring 2020 show inside the Musée des Arts Decoratifs, where models not only floated down the runway in flouncy floral-print minidresses, sequined evening jackets, and dramatic ruffled gowns, but had their faces adorned with fresh-from-the-garden blooms, too.
Per Valli's request to "make the girls look they have just come out of the pool," makeup artist Isamaya Ffrench created glowing complexions enhanced by cheeks strobed with MAC's Mixing Medium Shine and lids slicked with clear Lipglass to dewy effect. Then, Ffrench dipped into her prosthetics kit for an array of trusty special effects glues, adorning faces with fresh-cut flowers in shades of ivory, crimson, daffodil, lilac, and salmon pink.
The wet skin and draping of wildflowers were meant to evoke a surreal sequence—one in which a woman emerges from a lily-covered pond like the ones depicted in a Claude Monet painting. A true romantic couldn’t wish for a more spellbinding look.
