Around eight million Australians will regift this Christmas, according to new research by Lavazza.
Body language expert Steve van Aperen says often these gifts are those we have that we don’t have any need for.
“What I think the funniest statistic, is, is not only do nearly 50 per cent of people regift, one in five regift back to the originator of the person who gave the gift in the first place,” Mr van Aperen told Sky News Australia. He said there are multiple ways to tell through someone’s body language whether they actually like a gift.
“The first thing I would look for is conflict between what they say and what their body language is, in fact, expressing.“The other area we need to look for, is – believe it or not, blink rate – we know through research, when a person lies their blink rate increases six to eightfold after the delivery of the deception.”
