At least two people have died and more than a dozen others left injured after a building collapsed on a popular tourist island in Spain.

Emergency services fear more people could be trapped under rubble after reports the first floor of a restaurant collapsed onto patrons on a popular island in Spain. It is understood at least 14 people were injured when a two storey-structure, reported to be a restaurant, caved in near the beach in Palma, the capital of Majorca.
Emergency services were called to the scene on Thursday just after 8pm and began pulling people from the rubble and treating those who were wounded.Emergency services at the scene of a building collapse on the Spanish island of Majorca, which has left two people dead and at least a dozen others injured. "We have activated an emergency response as a result of the collapse of the ceiling of a two-storey building in Avenida Cartago in Playa de Palma, where people are trapped. Firefighters and local police are at the scene," they said.It is not known at this stage if the deceased and injured are locals or tourists.
