Billionaire tech founder Scott Farquhar will attend the Albanese government’s September jobs summit.
and the Technology Council of Australia are advising the Albanese government on overcoming employment barriers for disabled workers, part of efforts to reduce discrimination and boost workforce capacity.will convene roundtable talks on ways to address issues facing jobseekers with a disability.Australian of the Year Dylan Alcott, Tech Council boss Kate Pounder and high-level representatives from Australia Post, Crown Resorts and Seek will take part in the meeting in Canberra on Monday.
“Employers are experiencing workforce shortages and part of addressing that is assisting people living with disability who want to work, to do so,” Ms Rishworth said.“These sectors, among others, are thinking outside the box around how they can employ people living with disability by looking at the diversity of roles available and the flexibility they can provide.”
Alexi Boyd, chief of the Council of Small Business Organisations Australia, welcomed the discussion on boosting employment options for people with a disability.
