Robber shoots, kills man in Auburn Gresham
They told us off camera that they have to wait for his mother and father to come up from Mexico before they can lay him to rest.
Under the cover of darkness early Friday morning, Orlando Talavera was delivering pizza. His family told CBS 2 it was a job he loved.Talavera moved to Chicago from Mexico 20 years ago. His cousin and brother moved with him.At the time of his death, he was working for Barraco's Pizza in Evergreen Park.
Just before 2:30 a.m., Talavera was out on a delivery in the 7800 block of South Laflin Street, when police said someone shot him in the back and face. Evidence markers later covered the ground near an alley. A wallet was left in the street, car blinkers were on, and the driver's side door was open.CBS 2 reached out to Bararaco's and confirmed his employment – but would not comment further.The 41-year-old died at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.Police late Friday were still investigating the case.
