Auburn football will be without starting safety Keionte Scott “a considerable time” due to injury, Hugh Freeze said Monday.

Scott suffered an injury during Auburn’s 45-13 win Samford and was spotted wearing a boot on the sideline at one point. Freeze said Scott underwent surgery Monday and did not offer a timetable for his return.

Scott was a formidable presence in his first year with the program last fall. He logged 53 total tackles, as well as 4.0 tackles for loss, three pass breakups, a sack and an interception. People are also reading… Freeze added that he thinks safety Donovan Kaufman “will be fine” for Saturday’s contest against Texas A&M. Assuming Kaufman plays, he'll likely slide into the Star position that Scott started at the first three games of the season, said Freeze.
