Deputy Prime Minister Richard Marles says the AUKUS alliance “looms large” on the agenda to build a strong relationship with the United States.
Mr Marles said the AUKUS alliance is “completely central” to Australia’s national security and relationship with the United States.
“So, this is a really important opportunity to make that clear,” he told Sky News Washington Correspondent Annelise Nielsen. “AUKUS looms large in the agenda we’ve got with the United States and particularly the process that’s underway right now around narrowing down what submarine we actually do run with,” he said.
