Former pro-democracy symbol Aung San Suu Kyi takes center-stage Wednesday at the U.N.’s top court as she seeks to defend Myanmar’s armed forces against genocide allegations over its crackdown on the country’s Rohingya minority.
More than 700,000 Rohingya fled to neighboring Bangladesh to escape what has been described as an ethnic cleansing campaign involving mass rapes, killings and the torching of homes.
