The event included a couple of what staff said were “not too scary stories” as well as a few activities, followed by a short parade throughout the first floor of the library where kids could pick up some treats at three inside locations and one outside at the new bookmobile.
Children like Bryce Kurilla, 2, of Aurora, got an early start on Halloween Tuesday morning at the Santori Public Library in downtown Aurora. “I’m Spiderman and I want candy,” Bryce said, who came with his mother Brittany Kurilla to the Halloween Storytime and Costume Parade at the library. “I like books too.” Celia Hurd, library assistant who organized the event, said this is the second year for the celebration.
” Paula Rubio of Aurora brought her daughter Maia, 2, who was dressed as a princess. Both Paula and Brittany were wearing Halloween T-shirts to show some holiday spirit. “Maia is so excited. She’s been excited waiting for Halloween the whole month,” Paula Rubio said. Joe Hicks of Aurora brought Skyler Hicks, 4, who said she “was here for storytime.
