Aurus Komendant Debuts As A Russian Ultra-Luxury SUV With Four-Seats And 590 HP | Carscoops carscoops
Designed to provide “impeccable comfort on any journey,” the Komendant is an ultra-luxury SUV in the same vein as the Bentley Bentayga andThe similarities to the latter are unmistakable as the Komendant has a “manly and monumental” exterior with a massive 22 slat grille. It’s flanked by LED headlights and sizable air intakes.
Moving into the cabin, the Oleg’s of the world will find an elegant interior with Nappa leather upholstery, metallic accents, and Popular Black, Silver Birch Burl, or Dark Brown Ash wood trim. Given its status as an ultra-luxury SUV, there are two individual rear seats that feature heating, ventilation, and massage functions. They’re separated by a wide center console that features deployable tables as well as a “minibar” with a refrigerator. The model also boasts a dual screen rear entertainment system and what appears to be rear vanity mirrors.
Power is provided by a hybridized twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 engine that produces 590 hp and 649 lb-ft of torque. It’s connected to a nine-speed automatic transmission and a standard all-wheel drive system. This setup enables the 7,132 pound Komendant to accelerate from 0-62 mph in 6.5 seconds, before hitting a top speed of 137 mph . Despite its hybrid powertrain, the SUV is one thirsty Russian as it has a combined fuel consumption of 18.5 L/100 km .
