Australia's cricket cohort are no longer stuck in India amid the country's COVID-19 crisis. But they still can't come home. 🙅‍♂️ 9WWOS

Australian cricketers, coaches, match officials and commentators stranded in India amid the country's COVID-19 crisis have officially been transported to the Maldives.

Cricket Australia confirmed the news in a joint statement with the Australian Cricketers' Association on Thursday evening, with the cohort to remain in the Maldives until the expiration of Australia's travel ban to individuals coming back from India.

Former Australian Test star Mike Hussey was not a part of the travelling party from India to the Maldives,According to the statement, Hussey is experiencing "mild symptoms" and is being cared for by hisHussey's return to Australia will be facilitated by Cricket Australia and the Australian Cricketers' Association when it is safe to do so.

The travelling party will remain in the Maldives until the Indian travel ban is lifted on May 15. Once they return to Australia, each individual will have to quarantine for 14 days.interim CA CEO Nick Hockley said on Wednesday"Our main priority is we would work with the Australian Government and the relevant state governments to make sure that we're not taking spaces of anyone else that's available.
