"We've got to be concerned. China is a very important market for Australian wine, it's our number one market by value," Alister Purbrick, owner of Tahbilk Winery, toldFifth-generation winemaker Alister Purbrick told A Current Affair he is feeling the heat of tariff threats. The fifth-generation winemaker admits that 2020 has been a tough year for the industry. It's suffered drought, bushfires, smoke taint, frost, hail, a loss of tourism and to top it off the cost of accessing water is significant.China's barley tariff could not have come at a worse time for David Jockine, a grain farmer in Victoria's north west. He's just finished planting this year's crop.

"It's definitely going to hurt us, we need to trade as a nation and China is a good trading partner," Mr Jockine said.
