Australia's Madison de Rozario has added gold in the T53/54 marathon at the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games to her win at the Tokyo Paralympics last year.
De Rozario was also the defending Commonwealth champion, winning gold in the event on the Gold Coast in 2018. She won in a Games record of 1 hour and 56 minutes, comfortably ahead of English 20-year-old Eden Rainbow-Cooper . No bronze medal was awarded because there were only four competitors in the race. De Rozario's compatriot, Christie Dawes, finished fourth with a season-best time of 2:07:02.
The 28-year-old De Rozario also won gold in the T54 1,500m on the Gold Coast four years ago and will be looking to defend that title next week.
