For Daniel Dos Santos Costa, his chronic back pain has plagued his life with even a bump on the road while riding his beloved motorbike triggering episodes.READ MORE:"I would feel pain every day, but one day for some reason, I feel a lot of pain and when I was feeling like that were the moments I'd look for help," Dos Santos Costa said.
The trial essentially attempts to retrain the brain to process signals and information from the back differently with the end goal of reducing the level of pain. The clinical director of the trial, Professor Ben Wand, said this training can help patients see their back and brain aren't communicating properly and can end in better communication.
