Australian Olympic medallist James Magnussen has a bold plan to revolutionalise the way the Games are staged. The two-time Olympian says the world’s showpiece sporting event should be hosted by countries, not cities.
James Magnussen’s idea to revolutionise the Olympics. Magnussen represented Australia at the London 2012 and Rio 2016 Games and experienced first-hand the exclusive athletes’ village. But he says it’s not all it’s cracked up to be, especially for an athlete trying to perform at their best. “They basically make out of cardboard in a configuration that if there’s too much movement, or more than one person, they’ll collapse,” Magnussen told Dyl and Friends. “That’s not high-performance.
