A break of the Polman serve in the fifth game of the third set sent Lajovic on his way to victory and he will play 14th seed Diego Schwartzman in the third round. Polmans did not get on the court at all on the opening day and when he finally did he needed four hours and 17 minutes to get past the plucky Kukushkin out on court seven.
