Mr Ray said consumers should be worried about the security of their data in cloud-based messaging services. He said Imperva’s threat research had shown that the volume of records stolen each year was growing at an average rate of 224 per cent.
“Cloud-based messaging apps and services became an essential lifeline for many to stay connected with their co-workers, friends and family at the beginning of the global pandemic, and perceptions of risk also factor into consumer behaviour,” Mr Ray said.
