AUSTIN, Texas -- Texans are celebrating the federal holiday Juneteenth this weekend.For more than half the time that the Central Texas Juneteenth Parade and Festival was going on Saturday, the real feel was in the triple digits.Rain or extreme shine, people were out for Juneteenth.Juneteenth is the oldest known celebration commemorating the end of slavery in Texas – a pivotal moment in history.For some, it's a day to celebrate and for others it’s a fresh start.
