Australia's east coast is about to be hit with an eight-day rain event, with flooding likely across New South Wales and Queensland. Modelling suggests up to 100ml could fall in 24 hours in some parts of coastal NSW. MORE: 9News
The heavy rain will start on Friday before intensifying on Saturday, Weatherzone said."Accumulated rainfall totals of 100 to 200mm are likely" across swathes of NSW and Queensland.
"On Saturday, a low pressure trough will deepen near Australia's east coast, causing rain to increase over parts of eastern NSW and QLD.""Heavy rain is expected to fall over the southern or central coastal districts in NSW as a low pressure system deepens in the Tasman Sea, possibly delivering more than 100mm of rain to a similar region to Saturday.
