Momentarily recording zero weekly deaths was a “milestone”, Deakin University epidemiologist Hassan Vally said. “The graph is compiled using date of death, and it is almost impossible for someone to die, have their death registered, and included in the Fed data within a week!” Ms Cutter posted on X.The official reporting of deaths is complex and approaches have varied across the states during the pandemic, causing confusion. Ms Cutter cautioned there was “something screwy” about the recent death data.
