A network of cables and substations will be used to connect the wind farm to the grid, potentially at the existing Loy Yang Power Station in the La Trobe Valley.It is a mammoth engineering task and Ms Coldham said Australia was up against many countries in Europe in trying to secure the specialist equipment needed.
This marks a significant fast-forward as Flotation had previously said its Gippsland wind farm, which will power one million homes, would be operational by 2030.
